CASH CALENDAR: Our $100.00 Cash Calendar winner for this week is Michael Parmenter, ticket sold by Lily Cronister in Grade 3. Congratulations! Remember, every ticket purchased is eligible for each drawing, even if it has won before. If you have not purchased the mandatory $300.00 worth of Cash Calendar tickets, payment is due in the office now. Please refer to your April tuition statement for the correct amount owed.
CASH FOR CLASS: Holy Spirit School is currently in 1st place!! Parents, please fill up your brown sacks with Fremont Hub receipts! At the end of the month, send the receipts to the school office and keep the bag to fill again. There is no need to fill out any envelopes; I will do that for you. Shop at the Hub and send in your receipts within 45 days, anything older that that will not count. Thanks, Lenora Garcia
SCRIP NEWS: Where have all the SCRIP purchasers gone??? Scrip sales are way, way down. Please don’t forget to include SCRIP purchases before you go shopping or when planning gifts. We have a full inventory of gift cards for many, many stores and restaurants. We now carry Mervyn’s, we still have Macy’s, JC Penney’s, Starbuck’s, Peet’s Coffee, Toys R Us, Border’s, Barnes & Noble, Claim Jumper, Chili’s, Chevy’s. Olive Garden, and Panera Bread. We carry Food Maxx, Safeway and Lucky and many more stores. Please remember to purchase SCRIP. It is the easiest way to raise funds for Holy Spirit School.
CAFÉ ESPIRITU: There will be no Cafe Espiritu this Friday so we will see you all next Friday!
FATHER/SON EVENT: Hot Dogs & Tri-Tip for 54 Fathers, Sons and Mr. Strong - $80
Field Level Seats - $32 ea.
Spending time with your son and his friends - priceless!
Gracias! Thank You! Salamap! - The Father & Son A's vs. Giants baseball game and tailgate BBQ were a great success! Thank you to the Moms (and Sister!) who helped put the event together and served dogs and steak sandwiches.
“FEED A VILLAGE”: Please bring in canned food to donate for the Holy Spirit Girl Scout food Drive. Boxes are located in each classroom from now until April 18th. Thank you for supporting our local food banks!
YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR THE PRESENTATION BALL AWAIT…Time is running out as the Presentation Ball is quickly approaching! Luckily, you can still make reservations for “Stompin’ at the Savoy” which will be Saturday, April 19th, in the Parish Center. This spectacular evening will have it all! Dancing, wonderful food, good music, great fun and the presentation of our 2008 Festival Queen and her Senior court! The festivities begin at 6pm, dinner will be served at 7:30 pm, the presentation will be at 9pm and dancing will follow. Tickets are only $50.00 for this elegant Black & White affair. Reservations can be made by calling Kendee at 796-8956. Don’t wait, tomorrow, April 10th, is the last day reservations can be made!
MOTHER-DAUGHTER EVENT: The committee is looking for donations of any gift cards, toys, plants, etc., that could be used as prizes at this event. We also need donations of cut fresh fruit and non-frosted cupcakes for the day of the event. If you can help out (and this would be a great time to buy some SCRIP) with any donations of time, talent or treasure then please contact Mary Pearsall at 713-1257(H) 612-2065(C) or email at marypearsall@sbcglobal.net. Thanks in advance for your support!

NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Dear Parents and Students,
I attended the National Catholic Education Association Convention the week after Easter. It was held in Indianapolis, so I was able to see my son, travel to St. Louis to see my mom for Easter and after the convention I went to the Chicago area to see my brother who was released from the hospital just that week.
At the convention I was able to hear Sister Joyce Rupp speak, so since the Easter season is with us for several more weeks, I thought I would copy an Easter poem by Joyce Rupp.
Awaken Me
Risen One, come, meet me in the garden of life.
Lure me into elation.
Revive my silent hope.
Coax my dormant dreams.
Raise up my neglected gratitude.
Entice my tired enthusiasm.
Give life to my faltering relationships.
Roll back the stone of my indifference.
Unwrap the deadness in my spiritual life.
Impart heartiness in my work.
Risen One, send me forth as a disciple of your unwavering love, a messenger of your unlimited joy.
Resurrected One, may I become ever more convinced that your presence lives on, and on, and on, and on.
Awaken me!
Awaken me!
Blessings on you and your families throughout this Easter Season,
Susan C. Buchanan
