CASH CALENDAR: Our $100.00 Cash Calendar winner for this week is Benjamin Abiba, father of Christine Abiba in Grade 7. Congratulations! Remember, every ticket purchased is eligible for each drawing, even if it has won before. If you have not purchased the mandatory $300.00 worth of Cash Calendar tickets, payment is due in the office now. Please refer to your April tuition statement for the correct amount owed.
CASH FOR CLASS: Holy Spirit School is currently in 1st place!! Parents, please fill up your brown sacks with Fremont Hub receipts! At the end of the month, send the receipts to the school office and keep the bag to fill again. There is no need to fill out any envelopes; I will do that for you. Shop at the Hub and send in your receipts within 45 days, anything older that that will not count. Thanks, Lenora Garcia
SCRIP NEWS: Where have all the SCRIP purchasers gone??? Scrip sales are way, way down. Please don’t forget to include SCRIP purchases before you go shopping or when planning gifts. We have a full inventory of gift cards for many, many stores and restaurants. We now carry Mervyn’s, we still have Macy’s, JC Penney’s, Starbuck’s, Peet’s Coffee, Toys R Us, Border’s, Barnes & Noble, Claim Jumper, Chili’s, Chevy’s. Olive Garden, and Panera Bread. We carry Food Maxx, Safeway and Lucky and many more stores. Please remember to purchase SCRIP. It is the easiest way to raise funds for Holy Spirit School.
DID YOU KNOW? The new website has the Parent and Student Handbook for your reference. You can view and/or download it anytime by going to www.holyspiritfmt.com and choose the “RESOURCES” tab.
TREAT DAY: Treat Day is this Friday, April 18 sponsored by the 1st Grade. Don’t forget your quarters!
“FEED A VILLAGE”: Please bring in canned food to donate for the Holy Spirit Girl Scout food Drive. Boxes are located in each classroom from now until April 18th. Thank you for supporting our local food banks!
MOTHER-DAUGHTER EVENT: The committee is looking for donations of any gift cards, toys, plants, etc., that could be used as prizes at this event. We also need donations of cut fresh fruit and non-frosted cupcakes for the day of the event. If you can help out (and this would be a great time to buy some SCRIP) with any donations of time, talent or treasure then please contact Mary Pearsall at 713-1257(H) 612-2065(C) or email at marypearsall@sbcglobal.net. Thanks in advance for your support!
BOOK FAIR: Book Fair continues through Friday, April 18th.

NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Dear Parents and Students,
I regret to inform you that Mrs. Angela Langlands will not be returning to HSS for the 2008-2009 school year. Although, Angela has only been with us this year as a member of our faculty, she graduated from HSS and will always be a member of our HSS family. We wish Mrs. Langlands and her family all the best as they will be moving to Salmiya, Kuwait to work at the American International School in early August.
“You have to be holy where you are –wherever God has put you.
”~Mother Teresa~
It may seem that this year is almost completed but we still have many activities and 38 school days to go.
Blessings,
Susan C. Buchanan
