About Us
Celebrating Over 50 Years of Quality Catholic Education
Holy Spirit School is dedicated to developing the whole child by providing a quality Catholic education in a safe and caring environment.
As a vital ministry of Holy Spirit Parish in the Diocese of Oakland, Holy Spirit School is an educational community rooted in Catholic faith and tradition. As a community, we recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children. We believe all students should be encouraged to develop intellectually, spiritually, morally, emotionally, socially, and physically in a safe and caring environment where the learning process is unique to each individual. We facilitate an awareness of global responsibility and promote service to the greater community by fostering cultural sensitivity and discipleship in the spirit of Jesus Christ.
Comprehensive Program
With a comprehensive program from preschool to eighth grade, our school offers a wide variety of classes and programs, such as music, fine arts, Spanish, Filipino Culture Club, tutoring, and computer technology. We recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children and, with their partnership, we work together to foster their children's personal growth and development.
"God is present with each one of us and our kids, and the Principal and teachers as well as Father Mathew implement good moral values. One major reason I send my children to HSS is because of the sense of community. I feel the academic program is good and the kids are well prepared for high school.

Catholic Traditions
With over fifty years of history, Holy Spirit School is deeply rooted in Catholic traditions. Students are actively engaged in liturgies, choir, and as altar servers in school and parish Masses. Students are committed volunteers in outreach programs, such as St. Vincent de Paul Society, Breast Cancer Society, and the American Red Cross, and to serve the elderly, sick, poor, and disaster-hit communities locally and globally.
"Holy Spirit School is the Catholic primary educational foundation for our youngest parishioners, whose students celebrate the liturgy as role models for the parish children as a whole. Quite often the school community provides some of the most active parishioners in terms of ministry and outreach. In that sense the school also models adult faith practices and stewardship."

21st Century Skills
Holy Spirit School recognizes that we need to prepare our students with skills for the 21st Century using new technology. The school has purchased Macbook laptops to enable a one-to-one laptop program for a full-class size, and teachers are provided with Smartboards and presentation equipment. Our recent purchase of iPads shows our dedication to providing the students with the latest technology to enrich student learning.
