Safety Positions Available!

Safety Committee needs help!  We are down to ONE traffic director (Ron Fontillas), and are in desperate need of a safety monitor.  We are hopeful to have parents step forward and fulfill these vital roles to help keep our children safe.  Even one day a week will be very helpful, as we'd like to create a team of traffic directors and safety monitors.  We'd like to get this team in place, so that we'll have our schedule in place before the end of the school year, and be ready to roll in the fall.

The traffic director is in charge of the drop off lane in the morning, and guides the traffic through; telling parents when to let their children out of the car, when traffic is moving, and when everything is stopped.  All of this is done with standardized hand signals that have been used for the past 15 years.  Anyone can easily learn the hand signals and fulfill the role of traffic director.  Training and mentoring will be provided, and parent hours are available.

The safety monitor keeps an eye on the parking lot and drop off lane in the morning, and ensures that our safety rules and regulations are followed at all times to keep our children safe. This is a vital role in maintaining our discipline as a community to help keep traffic moving and the children safe in the morning. Training and mentoring will be provided, and parent hours are available.

Can you fulfill one of these roles, even for one day a week?  Our safety monitor, who will now also double as a traffic director on some days, will be graduating in June, and the Safety committee needs you to step up and be a part of our children's safety.  For questions or to become part of the team, please contact safety committee chair Rob Paglieri at 324-4877 or rpaglieri@bwayres.com
